Mantova hosts the First Local Policy Hub of the Greenstage Project

On March 12, 2025, Mantova became the stage for a groundbreaking initiative as it hosted Italy’s first Local Policy Hub of the Greenstage project. Held at the ARS Creazione e Spettacolo theatre, this event marked the beginning of a collaborative and participatory journey towards sustainability in the performing arts.

This initiative is led by the Municipality of Mantova, a key partner of Greenstage and the responsible entity for the Policy Hubs work package. The event was made possible through the collaboration with Rete 4D Teatro, a network uniting four contemporary theatre companies in Mantova: Teatro Magro, Teatro all’Improvviso, Carrozzeria Orfeo, and Ars Creazione e Spettacolo.

Under the thought-provoking title “Which Ethics of the Present for Aesthetics of the Future?”, the event brought together cultural operators, policymakers, and stakeholders to reimagine the future of theatre with sustainability at its core. Theatre companies from across northern Italy participated, reflecting the sector’s growing commitment to ecological responsibility.

This pioneering adventure aims to transform every aspect of theatre production— from scenography to technical elements— through an environmentally conscious lens. The day featured a mix of presentations and interactive workshops, fostering dialogue and collaboration, and laying the foundation for future partnerships and meaningful change in the arts sector.
